Need help with product selection.

I am building a Joomla site that will simply sell annual subscriptions to access the site.

I need the ability to offer a 2-tier commission structure, with balance of payment going to site owner

We will have resellers who most likely will NOT have a website of their own. So they need to be able to offer a referral code. Or it may be ok for them to give out a unique, but easy to identify reseller link, such as www.mydomain.com/johnsmith.

1. Would MultiTier or VM Affiliate work?

2. Would they work alone or require other Joomla extensions?

3. Any suggestions for what other Joomla extensions would be required?
